Cheerleading tryouts are in a month and I really need to get ready.What “moves” can I practice?And how can I get more “fit” and ready?

take a few jogs for the fitnness part so u wont get tired as fast….learn or practice ur splits and cartwheels. mainly what their going to do is c if u can copy a dance reutine that they show u.

    get your legs and arms stronger so you can do really good strong toe touches and high kicks and high v’s and stuff 🙂

    STRETCH!! stretching helps your jumps tumbling, and endurance
    tight motions will make you stand out and facials in your dance
    make sure you hair and makeup is neat because it gives of a good first impression
    to make your jumps higher do leg kicks with weights on

    as for moves:

    1) you need to learn the dance (if you have to learn one). flat out. the best dancers usually make the best cheerleaders. dances arent that hard as long as you have precise movements and youre on beat.

    2) learn the basic arm positions… aka: high V, low V, T, broken T, i call it a football punch but its when you have your one fist on your hip and the other one is straight up in the air and your elbow is by your ear. those are the ones they will probably have you learn anyhow.

    3) and as for jumps, youve gotta nail your toe touch. the other jumps are kind of like icing on the cake because in cheerleading, you dont use many other jumps but the toe touch. btw, its the hardest. youve got to STRETCH a lottt.

    along the lines of getting “fit,” you just need to stretch a bunchh and take a jog every once in a while. or take like an hour long walk. it doesnt take much. butttt if youre gonna be a base (in stunts) then you might wanna start lifting a bit now. it will help you later when doing them.
