excersize and when you learn routines, go home a practice them with a girlfriend or just ask your Coach for advice. That would be the best choice

Okay, first of all, congrats! I can so help you with this! I am same as you, except I’m older than you. When I was in 7th grade, I was a cheerleader (I’m in 9th) and I was a flyer as well. Here’s what I suggest:

-Try and sign up for gymnastics. This will help your flexibility, especially if you are going to be doing stunts such as the Liberty, Basket Toss, anything that is going to require you to be flipped, tossed, or you moving you body. Plus, girls that do not have a background in Gymnastics aren’t as well prepared for… shall we say, avoiding injuries and accidents.

-Practice your toe touches, jumps and kicks.

-Have a happy good additude. Come off as someone that is happy, smiley, and peppy, BUT DO NOT COME OFF AS FAKE. People would rather have a person that is not as perky as the other cheerleaders, because people don’t like fakes.

-When you find out who your base, side base, back spotter, etc. is, get to know and trust them. If you don’t trust that your base group is gonna catch you for that basket toss, chances are, the stunt is going to go bad.

-When stunting, never do a stunt that you have never seen or practiced with spotters! THIS IS SO IMPORTANT! If you are doing a stunt for the first time, always have extra spotters to watch and catch you, if needs be you fall and your group can’t catch you fast enough. Take the stunt in parts. And keep you body tight when in the air, because if you are all loose and wobbly, you are guaranteed a spot in the emergency room (if it is a really bad fall)

    -Have fun love!
