Question by Dimples: How Can I Prepare for Cheerleading?
I just ended track and I have had a 3 month break from cheerleading. I have lost a few pounds from track, but what else can I do around the house and neighborhood to stay in shape? I really want to get ready for cheerleading, and also what other techniques and stuff (like stretching and practicing jumps) should I be doing? Thanks.

jumping on a trampoline helps my jumps… also stretch your splits out… you can run around the neighborhood to keep in shape & do ab exercises… i would definatly reccomend goin to an open gym so you can work on or keep whatever gymnastics skills…
good luck! =]

It depends how competetive your cheerleading team is,but I looked around some websites to try to find things to help you and the only tip I can really give you is to practice. Keep stretching and if you have a trampoline practice the basics like front and back handsprings, your jumps, and possibly front and back tucks. I hope you find these links useful, they could help give you some background information just to help you grasp a better understanding. The most important thing about a cheerleader, is that you are energetic and devoted!
