How can I get ready for cheerleading?

Question by Savi: How can I get ready for cheerleading?
So, I’m going to try to get into cheerleading but I really need to know how to get ready. I think I’m going to take a tumbling class, but I don’t know when that is. What are some stretches & exercises I can do to get ready?

SPLITS! Start stretching for splits every night or morning. They help in tumbling and jumps. Make sure you can perform a clean cartwheel and a hurdle roundoff. Coaches will see you have potential for other moves like a backhandspring. Shout loud and smile!

  1. Cheer<3

Condition every day and get into tumbling asap for splits first do a lunge with your back knee on the ground leaning on your forward leg but that knee cannot go past your ankle, then do a horses bow, just stretching out your forward leg and putting your nose to your knee and do the same on your other leg. Then stretch into both splits. Hold as long as you can but be consistent on both legs. That’s how I learned to do mine!

Other good stretches are straddle and pikes and butter flies! Good Luck!

splits, bridges, straddle, pike, butterfly, twist, jumping jacks, umm your arms by pulling one over to the other side of you body and pushing backwards with your other arm, lunges, stretch your wrists and ankles too because you could really hurt yourself.
