Do you learn how to do flips in Cheerleading?

Question by ƒíяə & ι¢ə: Do you learn how to do flips in Cheerleading?
I am starting to think about doing stunt cheerleading. Not like, “Go team go!” But like pyramids and flips and stuff. Do they teach you how to do that once your on the squad or do you have to already know it?

Many girls have been doing it for years, so most of them will already know how to do it. It’ll be a good idea to get the few basics (i.e. cartwheel, front flip, back flip, hand-spring) before you go. However, it may be that the stunt cheer team you’re looking into does have beginner lessons, in which case you’ll be alright even if you don’t know even the very basics.

You are talking about competitive or “All-star” cheerleading. These are privately owned and opperated gyms located all across the U.S. and even other countries. They will teach you how to stunt and tumble, however my best suggestion for anyone that is new to cheerleading in general is to find a good, safe gym (they need to be USASF certified!!!) to take tumbling classes at, to start off with. From there, you can then try-out for their competitive teams ranging from ages 4 to 18, (and even beyond on Open teams) and from levels 1 (carthweels, roundsoffs, backwalkovers) to level 5 (fulls, double fulls, and specialty passes).
