Question by baby…: Can i still be a cheerleader if im pregnant?
I’m 2 month pregnant and I’m a high school cheerleader. I’m 5’3 and weight 98 pounds. My doctor said I’ll probably start showing until my 4th or 5th month but will I have to quit cheering?
I’m on the varsity and I really don’t want to quit, is it dangerous cheer if I’m 2 months pregnant?

YES! You are putting your babies life in danger. YOUR BABY COMES FIRST NOW! Its not about you anymore. You were ‘mature’ enough to have sex you need to be mature enough to put your life on hold for the next 18 years.

You will need to quit if your doctor advises it, yes. You certainly can’t do the stunts. It may be a non-issue. Your school may not let you participate due to insurance and liability.
depends on what kind of cheering you are doing, no acrobatics and I’d strongly recommend against the whole climbing on people thing or supporting other peoples weight!
You can cheer, but no rigorous activity. No being tossed in the air, no cart wheels, etc.
You CANNOT do exercises like that when you are pregnant. It doesn’t matter if you will be showing or not. You cannot do strenuous exercising like cheerleading, absolutely not. It will hurt your baby. Your cheer career is gone.
At any rate, your school will make you quit anyways.
Yes it is dangerous for your baby and yourself. Listen to your doctor and quit it.
Yes it is dangerous. When you are pregnant, things like jumping, running, flipping, etc aren’t possible anymore. If you do things like that you not only put your babies life in danger but yours as well. You also can’t lift any heavy weight. You are going to need to say goodbye to cheerleading. Plus once you have the baby, you won’t have time for cheerleading. Might as well nip it in the butt early.
I would very much doubt that you will be able to carry on to the extreme moves that cheerleading brings
but I don’t see why you should quit
you can still move about and dance
just not not dangerous moves
many women jog and do aerobics and some even horse ride when their pregnant
I rode horses until I was nearly due although I do know them I also used to do an antenatal fitness dvd until I was 8 months pregnant
good luck and keep up the exercise
just not the big flips and moves!!
If you are just standing there and doing cheers and not flipping or catching other people you will be fine. I would highly consider not cheering when pregnant. You want to do everything possible that you can do to protect your baby.
If you don’t want to quit then you don’t care about your baby. You are the only protection the baby has and if you want to keep cheering then you will most like do damage if not kill your fetus. They don’t make maternity cheering uniforms. If you wanted to keep cheering then maybe you should have used your head a little better and used protection.
