This is awesome! I cheered at NC A&T SU and it’s great to see an HBCU at this level especially for the schools (like T) that are trying to really grow in the competition area. Keep it up!
This is the first time I’ve seen a all black school with MEN on there team and as good as yall are. In most schools up north all they can think about is being thought of as being gay. Very impressive
I’ve seen better but you guys are really good!!!! I swear it! I’ve always been wondering how to doo a heel stretch and scorpion down with the spiin thrown in… your stunts are good! keep them in prgress you might wnat to try a bow n arrow or something fresh like a marisas chin.. your dance routine is amazing and unique I love it!!! the combination of hip hop and new wave dance styling like MTV has was a great idea! keep it FUNKY FRESH

We had to water this routine down because they told we had to perform it at the halftime of the SWAC tourament game and they didn’t have the mats for us to use. The tumbling is watered down and the stunts for that reason! We had already won the competition the night before! GO SU

former HBCU cheerleader/stunt man here. awesome stuff SU. a lot of people fail to realize that cheering is very hard work. lots of practice and trust.
I’m not into this kinda stuff, but I did have several friends to cheer at school like N.C.A&T, CAU, MORRIS BROWN (when they were open), but I will say that SU yall are tight work. I was liek damnnn. P.S. Not being funny, but I wanted to ask one of yall male cheer members is it to late for me to learn how to flip. I’m in my mid 20’s. I just wanna learn how to do a back hand spring, and maybe a standing back tuck. I know yall got mad upper body strenght. Keep it up, the great work SU.

They were good! I cheered at a predominantly white school for 4 years and when I was looking for colleges I wanted to go to an HBCU with a GOOD squad, but for some reason I didnt find anything about the cheerleaders records or anything on the SU website.(I WISH I HAD!) but the routine was great!

Very good routine. Most HBCU’s don’t do actual cheer routines. Glad to see some are, and are doing a good job.

I cheer for Alabama A&M University, your rivivals, and I just marvel at how good you guys are! And if I would have gotten accepted to Southern, I know that I would be cheerleading on that squad.

well i cheered for a hbcu up until, 2005..central state university we did our best for an ohio team without a coach, but it was always good to know that it was teams like yours jarel that held it down for hbcus.. i would love to see more videos… keep doing yall thing
