Question by Katie: how much should a Junior Varsity cheerleader weigh?
In my family Cheerleading is like a religion i know it sounds funny but every woman in my family cheered at one point and most of them were a captain of either jv or varsity well anyway because of that and because my love for cheerleading i need help losing some pounds to be the best possible cheerleader I’m 101.5 pounds and 5ft 3in how much should i lose to be a better cheerleader?

Wow you’re very skinny! Don’t worry, you definitely don’t need to be losing any weight. I think gaining weight would be a better alternative; to be a better cheerleader you need more muscle, and muscle weighs more than fat! So don’t obsess about your weight, you sound very fit to me.

    Dude, weigh whatever the crap you want to.
    How old are you?
    Because you’re height, you are already technically underweight,
    and it’s dangerous to purposely lose even more weight.

    Your weight is good, don’t lose any just because you think you need to.

    why is this question under volleyball in the sports section?

    anyways.. try running or going to the gym and working on your legs on the machines. also try doing some plyometrics- jumping and agilities that is.

    I know how you can become a better cheerleader…stop worrying about your weight and focus more on the cheer leading!
