Question by Kristie A: How do you put you hair up in the new trendy “cheerleader” ponytail?
This is going to be so hard to explain but here goes… Girls are wearing their hair up in a type of ponytail that seems as if the barrette is underneath the ponytail. I know they use bobby pins but I don’t know how to do it. I call it the “cheerleader” ponytail because so many college cheerleaders are doing it for ballgames. I realize I have not described it very well, but hopefully someone will know what I mean and walk me through the steps.

put your hair in a pontytail. (straighten it first though)
then if you have fly aways use bobby pens or clips. & put a ribbon if wanted.

I’m not a 100% sure what a cheerleader pony tail is. How about if when you pull your length of hair through the last loop (the last time you can possibly get the rubber band around your hair), you don’t pull it all the way through? So the ends of the hair is still in the rubber band??? LOL, I’m curious now. Put a link up of the cheerleader pony!
Use a hairpiece that matches your color. Put your hair in a bun and clip the pony tail over the bun, tighten the draw string, and use bobby pins to hold it in. A little hairspray to keep the annoying little pieces around your face to stay out of the way.
Hint: google forever young hairpieces.
Why don’t you just ask a cheerleader?
If you know how to put your hair up in a high pony tail do that but first straighten it then put it up then hair spray it and then put some ruffles a bow or something in it…i am a cheerleader so i would know.
why would you want to do that, that look looks like crap.

ok put you hair up in a L…O……..N……G bun so just a few hairs are stickin out of it then underneath your hair put the bobby pin in and make it come up on the outside of ur hair slightly puttin the middle part in the bobby pin.hang a few strands over it!
