@5816alexis But volleyball does cheer is even close to a sport for it to be a real and official sport it has to be in the olympics duh how could they replace cheer for volleyball thats really stupid volleyball is 10 times better than cheer and anyways cheer is under the category of gymnastics and gymnastics does wave around pompoms so it not a sport i love volleyball and its my life and i have the best position ever (libero) sorry to burst ur bubble but its not even close to a sport!

If anybody said cheerleading is not a sport go stand in front of the mirror. Do a High-V.Oh, yeah, you don’t know what that is. Hold your arms up above your head, keep them straight, clench your hands into fists, hold it, and don’t move a muscle. Do that for thirty minutes and tell me how your arms feel. Get in front of the mirror again and do the splits or a toe-touch. It doesn’t happen overnight people. Now go get somebody and hold them above your head with straight arms. Its a sport. 🙂

We do alot of work, from lifting girls up in the air, to jumps, kicks, and splits. We do even more work than what a football athleteee or basketball athletee does. Those athletes lift weights, Us Cheerleaders we liftt athletes up in the air 😀

Let’s put it this way: cheerleading has grown into a sport. Never used to be when it was all about waving poms poms. I can’t do have the jumps/kicks/splits these girls do, it’s a damn sport!

For anyone who thinks that today’s kind of cheerleading is not a sport, I advise you to go watch Penn & Teller’s Bull$hit! episode on cheerleading from this season. These girls don’t get the same kind of safety measures applied to their activities as say football or even volleyball and as a result end up with a much higher rate of injury. These girls are way tougher then you think.
