And how long does it take to learn a simple cheerleading tumbling pass? I have no gymnastic/tumbling experience but I run frequently and I am in great shape.

Learning a back hnadspring is a very hard skill. I have been doing cheering since i was 5 thats 8 years ago. So i have been cheering for 8 years and, i still dont have my backhnadspring. I also run all the time, and i am in good phisical shape, however, backhandsprings use a lot of mental strength, its very scary. And, you have to really stregnthen areas like your shoulders & arms to do it correctly. Some people learn it quick, others dont. It depends. good luck (:

It took me about 5 weeks in my tumbling class to learn it and it looked good. So if you don’t have a coach or anyone to help it will probably take longer. My guess is 3 months.

Well in order to do cheerleading I think you are gonna some gymnastics experience. Fortunately, I got my round-off back spring in like a week!!! I know I was lucky for for other people it is very difficult. First off don’t try to teach yourself it won’t work, and plus you could really get hurt. I suggest going to a gym where they do gymnastics where you live. Because I went to a place I have my round-off back handspring back tucks!!!! It is gonna be really tough maybe 5 weeks. And maybe another 2 weeks for you to add the round-off to it. And plus you gonna need another skills to be able to do a back hand spring. Like a bridge, cartwheel, handstand, simple things. And you are gonna need a lot of muscles.

If you aren’t in a tumbling class yet, get signed up for one.

Being in shape helps a lot. You’ll need to be flexible through the shoulders, so work on bridge rocks if you can’t make a bridge exactly like this with the hands, arms, and shoulders all in line with each other.

Doing handspring drills at home will speed up how long it takes to learn the skill, but no one can say _exactly_ how long it will take. It varies greatly from individual to individual.

    Good luck! :^D
