How do you train to become a cheerleader or gymnast?

Question by Ashley: How do you train to become a cheerleader or gymnast?
I’m already in my early teens and I’ve never done any gymnastics, cheerleading, or any sport, and I really want to do one. But I’m afraid that I’m too late and I’ll never be able to do a single sport because I’m ‘unexperienced’ and too old. I want to be a cheerleader or gymnast, and I know you try out and you have to be really good, but I don’t know what to do. Should I just work out and practice? Like, what would I do to ‘practice’? Please answer!!

well, iv done gymnastics, and I’m now into cheerleading and I’m 12, but, most things like this are sorted into age groups so you wont be too old! and as for the experienced, as long as you try hard I think you’ll do great! as long as you practise at home and learn what the coach teaches you. Trust me you’ll be just great!

If early teens you mean by 12-15, you are deffinately not too olldd! You probably won ever make it into the olympics, or nationals, but you will be able to learn skills faster that most people in your class who are younger. You should take recreational classes first and see how good, you get and when you are ready go to try-outs for competitive teams 🙂 Every night practice you splits, and stretches so you are flexible, and go sets of pushups and situps, and v-sits every night. Practice handstands against the wall, and chin ups. Try to get yourself in shape. But you have alot of time to learn alot of tumbling skills, I do gymnastics and I started a fourteen, and I find that it is realllyy fun, you have to work hard remember. The main key is to keep yourself motivated and not give up because you can get the skill.

Gooddluckkk I hopee you go for itt 🙂 You’ll regret it if you dont noww.
