I tried out for the team and made it!
But its my first year being a cheerleader.(I am in the 8th grade)
I want to be the best, and I want to work hard at being the best.

    get flexible it helps alot with tumbling and dancing i recommend lunges and sit stradles

    work on abs do sit up after situp because in cheerleading we use our abs to help us get off the ground to make our jumps higher.

    work on arm muscles at will help with sharpness in dances cheers ect.

    Last but not least SMILE!!!=]]]]]]

    Don’t focus on being “the best” as that may cause a lot of friction with you and your teammates. Instead, just focus on doing really well and having fun.

    For actual technique, you can take some tumbling classes or cheerleading classes that might be offered in your community. I would also take a dance class or two (doesn’t really matter what kind). You can continue to take the classes after cheerleading ends for the season so that you can stay in shape. If you find that you’re seriously into cheerleading, then look into doing a cheerleading camp through the national cheerleading association, or through your local university. All these will help enhance your cheerleading and dance abilities, be scouted by other coaches (which may eventually lead to a scholarship for college), and to just have fun.

    Good luck.
