cheerleading isnt a sport because throwing people in the air is very easy even my granma could do it.if making a pyramid is a sport then the egyptians were the first cheerleader i guess.other sports like soccer,hockey,basketball is real sport becuz not only men got in best shape,but also women.
The judge probably never cheered or even took the time to really know the the true knowledge of cheerleading. I did rec cheer, high school, and all-star, and now college. They are not the same at all. But when i got to college i realized just how unfair this sport is treated. My team has practice everyday including wait lifting. I squat a 225 and that not even my max i only way 130. I have never seen the true life of a competitive cheerleader really be shown. Never judge what you cant do.

were throwing girls in the air,, throwing back tuck and amazing tumbling, dancing, while smiling, and doing it to certain counts, and so much more!! were works our asses off to give prep and happiness to the world, and what we get back is that its not a sport?? haha well all i gottah say is that some ppl are so DUMB!! 🙂

well i’m a cheerleader in germany and i’m also doing puplic speaches and debating. but you’re arguments could also fit to any other sport or activity in the world… either if it cheerleading or bowling… doesn’t matter… so in your opinion every kind of sport or activity that’s not political is a “huge waste of time”? are you sure?…
Girls sports are being cut down on all over america to and replaced with ‘cheerleading’, that’s the real issue.

Cheerleading is a huge waste of time. Before cheerleading vcame to my school, girls entered netball, hockey, public speaking and debating. Not because those were their first choices, but because those were the only social activities. Cheerleading is for stupid attention seekers!

its thatt simple screw the judge. we throw people in the air, we work hard to memorize and execute nearly impossible stunts and tumbles, we go upside down on a regular basis, we work together as a team to be as organized and in sync as possible, and this is all done with a smile on our faces. do you do this in any other sport? no; didnt think so.

“disorganized” what a dumb fuck we work hard to have all our movements working at the same time and beat as everyone else and when my squad does a stunt we work to get the prep up into the extension at the same time then twist cradle the girl down while both flys spin the same way and the same time not so disorganized now huh??

Weightlifting can be a sport if it is a competition! Lifting weight to get bigger muscles or to lose wheight is not a sport!
I dont know why cheerleaders do wheightlifting, but i doubt they get points on how much they squad!
people keep confusing the amount of physical strain with making it a “sport”. the precidents they use are rules, times, officials, competition. none of these are mandatory for cheerleading yet. only in cheering competitions. until these come in to play during other athletic events while cheerleaders are performing at games (the two squads competing against one another during games), they wont consider it a sport.

Competitive Cheerleading IS a sport! We are in that gym for at least 12 hours a week! We throw people in the air and we flip and land on our feet! If cheerleaing isnt a sport, then neither is football!!!!
only competative cheer(stunt groups) should be called a sport but that bullshit on the sidelines at a game is just a waste of time and money(along with golf and bowling). but still cheer is not the hardest sport. wrestling is maybe the hardest sport.
you cant say cheerleading is not a sport unless you have tried it!! i no i am a competiton cheerleader and it is most definitley a sport! we practiced all summer and way more than the footballl players,softball and almost alll of the other sports… yea i get it cheering on the sidelines at a game is not that hard but competion is picking up girls!! do foot ball players do that? NO! Cheer leaders bust there butts just so everybody else can say its not a sport!!!
