i would try out for high school because the next step is collage after high school, and high school is where they look to offer them. i would also look into your local cheer squads and see if scholarships where ever given out previsally in that squad.
    hope you get one!!

Either one really. they come and watch people from our high school cheer, but i also have a friend who does the local cheer team, and he just got into ucf, and they came and wathced one of his competitons and they offered him a scholarship.

i just think you have to invite recruters to your games/competitons or w/e. you have to get noticed!

    good luck!!

I was a varsity cheerleader in High School and a competative cheerleader for 4 years and I really looked forward to cheering in college, but when it came down to it, the college I wanted to attend (a private University) did have a cheer squad, but NO cheer scholarships. That meant that buying the uniforms, shoes, etc. would only have cost me money and not paid for anyhing. Cheering in college would have been fun, but would not have given me time to have a job and do my class work. My High School Cheer Coach helped me hook up with a local Cheer Scholarship of less than $ 1000. Which, while appreciated, didn’t put a dent into the cost of a private college education. I made the decision to focus on academics for scholarship money and get the degree I needed for my now successful career. So, my advice for you is to decide where you want to go to college first, then ask the college, High School and competative squads if they have any scholarships. Please continue to cheer if you enjoy it, but you may decide (like I did) that it is not worth the time and money to cheer in college… unless you plan to cheer for a living! 🙂
