    Hey there,
My high school didn’t have a pep squad, but I was on the competitive cheer team. The pep squads that i seen at other schools were more like dance teams. Competitive cheer teams do not really dance, they do a whole lot more of stunts, and gymnastics. If your goal is to be on the cheer team, I would stay away from the pep squad and take a gymnastics class instead.

PEP squad is like spirit line. You will most likely do jumps, some cheers and like a halftime show. This usually includes stunting and dancing. Cheer leading, is a lot of stunting and tumbling. Usually a lot more advanced. There will be jumps and dancing skills that are a bit difficult if you have no experience. Good Luck!
