What are the most common cheerleader moves?

Question by christgirl: What are the most common cheerleader moves?
I am a new cheerleader and must have a cheer and a dance to go with it. My coach said I have to be able to do hecklies, or hellies, or something like that.
Hurkies, yeah, not hecklies. Sorry.

Well, it’s hard to describe moves with text.

There’s this one where your left fist is on your hip and your right arm is straight up in the air, then you pump your fist and shout something spirited.

A high V (hi-vee)is pretty common. That’s where both arms are straight and 45 degrees between horizonatal and vertical.

Beyond that there are all sorts of dance moves.

If you’re looking for more atheletic moves there are various jumps.

The toe touch is where you jump up with your arms horizontal and bring your legs up to horizontal like you’re doing the splits in the air; then you land with your feet together.

if you’re on pom I’d say: daggers, high v’s, low v’s, toe touches are prettyy common
dance routines: lots of leaps, turns, jumps like axles, pirouettes

i think you’re talking about hurkies–or thats what we call them here. and its a type of jump
