I love how when Sendhil says he would love to shoot something, it has a picture of him with a gun to Zach’s head

Japan is the world’s second-biggest economy, the Japanese market is crucial for US movies and shows, and the cost of a proofreader is trifling. And yes, I see middle-eastern people commplaining about stereotypes a lot. I’m not complaining about stereotypes, just lousy Japanese-language writing.

The Middle East is also a huge market for the US and they stereotype us as crazy bombers and have no respect what-so-ever for our culture and language, but you don’t see me complaining do you?

Uh, yeah, that’s the reason US TV ignores and sterotypes Asians (sarcastic eye roll). Japan is one of the biggest markets for US TV and movies. The benefits of cultural accuracy would show in their DVD sales and rentals, if they would hire one proofreader.

Maybe here we’re seeing the real reason why American television doesn’t often do storylines with more asian characters in them. Cuz when they do, all they get is insulting criticism. I think the Kensei storyline could be better, but it is fiction. When they depict my neck of the woods, Texas, they get a lot of things wrong, but I don’t insist they get a native Texan editor. I just enjoy the show.

Glad to know Ali will be back – she wasn’t in the first SE2 eps. Masi Oka and the writers are showing AMAZING IGNORANCE of Japanese culture with the HORRIBLE Japanese-language dialogue, and the PREPOSTEROUS ‘Takezo Kensei’ storyline. Get a native Japanese editor!
