How do I prepare for upcoming basketball cheerleading tryouts?

Question by Jewel K: How do I prepare for upcoming basketball cheerleading tryouts?
I’ve never cheered before, and the cheerleading tryouts are in a couple of days! How should I prepare and what should I wear? What do you do at cheerleading tryouts? Are you suppose to know the cheers before you come to tryouts? I don’t know anything really about cheerleading, so any advice about it would be helpful. HELPPPP… I’d like to email a cheerleader for help too!

Just try you best. If you don’t give up and if you don’t get in then try next year. Good luck!=).

I don’t know for sure, but I think when you’re at the tryouts you have to copy an instructor, then repeat the cheer. But I’m not 100% sure so make up your own just to be sure!
    Hope this helps!

usually they will teach you a cheer and a dance, so try to pay attention when they do, also start practicing your jumps like toe touches and herkies, stretch.
and have fun when your there!

I was just trying out for a travel bball team which i did not make. The coach told me I needed to practice on defense which is the most important part of the game. I would work on all of the skills but I would focus on rebounding and defense. A team always needs a great rebounder and defenses player. Good Luck
