Question by mom of 3: Should a 7 year old miss school for cheerleading competition?
After 2 years of begging I recently let my daughter join a cheerleading team with her cousin. They explained to us that they could not miss practices and would be kicked off the team if they missed or were late to any compitition. We were also required to pay all compitition fees up front and there are no refunds if your child quits or is kicked from the team. We understood that since the routine would have to be changed if a child was no longer on the team. We were also told about the traveling and were fine with that. But now that we have paid over $ 600 and my daughter is loving cheer with all she has I have found out that in February she will be required to miss a day of school. I don’t think this is right and don’t want my daughter missing school. What should i do?

id let her. shes worked really hard and one day isnt going to effect her too much in the long term.

id do a deal with her say she can go if she asks for extra homework to do so shes still learning
