Q&A: How has cheerleader culture shaped the cultural landscape of your country?
Question by Yahoo user: How has cheerleader culture shaped the cultural landscape of your country?
How has cheerleader culture shaped the cultural landscape of your country?
We are relatively new to the whole ‘cheerleader’ thing in my country – or at least I am (besides, I am definitely way over that age!). Just about everything we see and hear about cheerleading is through American TV and movies.
Sub-questions:
Does ‘cheerleading culture’ (as seen in high school movies) exist? I’m talking about behavioral and lifestyle idiosyncrasies (of course I know cheering exists!) so please answer intelligently.
How has it shaped your country and its women?
Has it been a positive influence on girls?
P.s. Personal anecdotes are most welcome. No Wikipedia and carbon copies, please. Thanks for reading and answering. I hope my question goes down well and does not upset anybody (if you are a cheerleader). Good day.
