Question by xosmbbox: Does it hurt cheerleading if you have your belly button pierced?
I just got my belly button pierced on Sunday, and I am going to cheer camp at the beginning of August. I am a flier, and i was wondering is it going to hurt? Also, there is a little scab forming near the top of my belly, is that bad, or just part of the healing process?

Be careful cuz it could get infected (the scab thingie) so you should just cover your belly button and then you’ll be fine. Have fun at cheer camp !
i had my belly button pierced to,that may be part of the healing process but make sure that you alwaysss clean it so it dosint have to be taken out.
Well it basically depends on the moves you make when your cheering. Oh, and the little scab really isn’t suppose to be there. Either your allergic to the piercing(the piece of jewelry) or you may be starting to get an infection. If it gets real bad,you might want to go to the doctors.
Cover the piercing with a plaster then it can’t be accidently ripped out.
And with the scab just make sure your cleaning it reguarly and thoroughly. If it doesn’t go, go back to your piercer.
YES! Especially if it is sore now. You run a HUGE risk or getting it torn out, talk about PAIN!
Typically against rules to cheer w/ any jewelry… and if anyone sees it you will have to take it out! And it will close!
Scab- normal healing… can take MONTHS to heal completely!
Wash daily with anti-bacterial soap, sliding the Soapy ring back & forth thru piercing.
Use Bactriban (bacitracin) oinntment, NOT Neosporin, once a day.
from what i know youre not supposed to have belly rings if youre a cheerleader. actually, i went with one of my friends to get mine done and she really wanted hers done too but she couldnt because her school is so strict about that. they do belly piercing checks every so often and even feel the girls stomachs to make sure they dont have any clear plastic retainers in. crazy right? i guess its dangerous with all the flying and stunting and whatnot its more likely that youll catch it on something =/
and the scab is probably okay, just dont try to pick it off or anything, and keep cleaning regularly. if you start getting more concerned just swing by your piercers shop and ask him to take a look at it

i go to cheer camp next week. and there is a strict no jewelry rule including belly button rings. i do believe it will hurt. especially when camp is a time to get ur stunts down and so u may not be always falling the right way so if it gets pulled out it will hurt rlly bad
