I’m considering trying out for the cheerleading squad at my university, and I’m wondering if it’s possible to make the team, despite my cheer inexperience.
Has anyone else done it? Any suggestions? Encouraging words?

Hey there, It is definitely possible to make it, but you need to work extremely hard before trying out and you need to be dedicated. I am a cheerleader, a flyer. It would help to know what position you would be on. But my advice is to get signed up at a cheer or gymnastics gym and get tumbling down. Work on your jumps, such as toe touch, double toe touch, right front, left front, right hurdler, left hurdler, and a pike. Cartwheels, roundoffs, inside cartwheels, and backhands. And flexibility is a huge thing. Really work on that. These are the basics. Check my squad out on Youtube. We are 5 year state champions. Almost College Level I believe. Springfield Varsity Cheer.
