Question by lalalala: How can i condition for cheerleading tryouts?
i am doing cheerleading tryouts in early march. i want to know what to expect, how to condition and what i should know how to do for the tryouts. everything is appreciated =)

i dont know how the cheerleading squad at your school is but at my school you were required to be able to do a back-handspring in order to be on the varsity/competition squad. so if you haven’t already i would suggest joining gymnastics. you’ll also need to be flexible as well and you’ll need to know and be able to do the jumps. (right herkie, left herkie, russian, spike.. etc) but most importantly you’ll need to have a very good attitude at tryouts and try and stay as happy and jolly as you can and be friendly to everyone.
again, im not sure how much you know about cheerleading but my advice would be to find someone who is a cheerleader that can help you learn some of the cheers and who can make sure you do everything correctly. and make sure your movements are sharp.
