I suggest you practice what you already know and when your doing it do it with a smile and be all happy.

    Run/swim laps and do yoga.
Thats what my friend does and she was in cheerleading.
    Good luck =]

If you want to start practicing now, I suggest you stretch everyday, if you don’t already. Your tumbling sounds pretty nice. Practice different jumps, and try to make them clean. Watch cheerleading, if you want to (sometimes it’s on tv)–that may be good for you. Excercise and do multiple stretches everyday. I can’t stress that enough.

I’m a cheerleader–not for a school though. Maybe you could find a cheerleading class–like Cheer America or something else. I can’t remember the name of the other big organization. Look for something like that around where you live, so that you can have some experience stunting and etc.

What excercises do cheerleaders do? Well, what do you mean? Our team does a dance and cheer. We stunt, tumble, jump, and so on.

Try to jump. At my school, jumps, tumbling, and dance are the three categories. Practicing jumping, prepping for jumps, doing different kinds of jumps, and doing several jumps in a row. (toe-touch, pike, front hurdler, etc.)

Work up some muscles. Once again, excercise regularly if you don’t already.

Tips: Keep your moves sharp and crisp when you cheer. Smile, all the time. And if you screw up, don’t make a big deal out of it. Act like you know exactly what you’re doing, and everyone else may think you do. Be loud, but don’t scream. Make your words clear when you cheer. Also, just have fun. If you’re having fun, the people around you are more likely to, and that’s one of the main points of having cheerleaders.

Something else: Learn cheer lingo and stuff, if possible. If you know a friend or sister or something that is or was a cheerleader, as them about it, that way you’ll be more prepared than those who are complete newbies.

Stetch before you practice and before you cheer. It prevents pulled muscles and injury! Be alert and careful!
Some stuff to practice: Splits, Heelstretches……..
    Jumps like pike, toe-touch, front/side hurdler, herkie……..
And just don’t be afraid. Or intimidated. Cheer coaches would usually prefer people who will help the team as a whole. Those who will help others. Ask questions and specifics. Pay attention, help others, and have a good attitude!

–Good luck! (yes, I know I said a lot of the same stuff over and over) <:)
