Q&A: What jumps do I need in high school cheerleading and what can I do to master them?

Question by αmɛlια ♥: What jumps do I need in high school cheerleading and what can I do to master them?
I know I need a toe touch, what else? And what drills/exercises can I do to get better at each specific jump?

Thanks!

You’ll need a herky and a pike.

Stretch, stretch, stretch.

well, a hurkie(1 leg half backward), a high kick, and the eagle (splits in mid-air!)
if it is not a jump then it’s a round-off, a cartwheel, flip, backflip, or a the splits(forward and backward) hopefully that helped!

I would talk to who ever your cheer coach will be, because each highschool wants different things. Although I would recomend the basics..toe touch, hurdlers, herkies..sorry for my spelling mistakes. But like I said all coaches are different and they require different things so be sure to get in contact with your coach, and I would also recommend going on youtube and looking up different cheer jumps to get a visual on what they would look like and also to get help with them.
