Jump Drills!!!! Haha they are so painful..but they help.
For warm ups..start with high kicks..do about 15 on each leg.
Then..do 3 of each jump.. 3 toe touches..3 herkies…3 hurdlers…3 pikes (they dont have to be all in a row..stop after each jump..then do another..and another..)
Then..Do continuous jumps..Do a toe, herkie, hurdler, pike, pike, hurdler, herkie, toe without stopping!! It kills but it helps alot.
Also..for my squad..in the summer..we practiced right by a track..so our coach made us run 2 laps..and if we were practicing inside then we ran around the school..like down the halls..up stairs..haha. Um..we did a few push ups..but not a ton. And we did motion checking…for instance..everyone on the squad would go in a high V then..our coach came to each of us and tried to pull our arms/move them out of place..if your arms moved then you needed to be tighter..this helped too! Um..I think thats about it..of course if you have tumblers then you need to practice their tumbling..Hope this helped! 🙂

to make us louder we were made to run up bleachers shouting the cheers and she was on the field and she was supposed to hear us.
we did 15 jumping jack kicks on each leg and counted aloud as a team
we did two sets of ten push ups and crunches.
    we practiced our splits

what helps a lot with motions, like high v’s, is to have your whole team line up in a perfectly straight line and have your coach (or captain, but preferably your coach so your captain can practice too)stand in the front of the line and have them shout out motions, your coach should see what looks like one high v. all of you should match the person in front of you. This also works for cheer timing. your coach should easily see who’s making mistakes if all of you are in a line. this helps my team a bunch and i hope it helps with your teams motions and cheers!
