Q&A: What can I do to make a great cheerleading captain and show my authority, but still come of as nice and fun?

Question by Princess: What can I do to make a great cheerleading captain and show my authority, but still come of as nice and fun?
I am one of 3 captains on our cheerleading squad. I want to show the new girls that cheer is a serious sport and that they need to behave, etc. during practice so that no one gets hurt during stunting and we learn more skills. I want to use my authority to do these things but don’t want to come off as bossy or mean.

Don’t yell or scream at them because that’s not what they want to hear.
They want positive reinforcement.
Bring the team cookies occasionally so show you’re nice.
Keep in mind people don’t want you to boss them around, but want your advice and guidance.
Try not to get frustrated.
Trade out negative words for positive.
Instead of “Face the front it looks sloppy”. Try “Remember the crowd wants to see your pretty faces”.

be serious when your working even if you have to yell sometimes and don’t only say negative things like you sucked at that you need to do it like this because they’re gonna think you are only calling them out so say positive things too like good job much better and give out hi fives my coach does and it makes us feel better and feel like were understanding what were suppose to do and if someone has to go to the bathroom really bad let them because they might pee they’re pants and it wastes time! so thats how you can be a really good cheer captain good luck
